18k Gold Jewelry

I adore working with 18k gold for my jewelry, because it has a more brilliant luster highlighting the stones with which I am working.  I also enjoy its purity:  At 75% pure gold, this allows the gold tone to be warmer and more rich.  Jewelry made with 18k gold tends to be considered fine jewelry and is also less likely to trigger skin allergies.  However, one risk to this karat is that it is softer and more apt to scratch or scuff during daily activities due to it is higher purity of gold.

On the other hand, 14k is only ~58.3% gold making it hardier for everyday wear, which is why most (U.S.) bands are made of this karat.  The wearer is less likely to scuff the band during daily routines such as washing dishes, working out, etc.  (Though it is recommended to remove the bands during these particular activities.)  It is also a less-expensive metal due to its lower-gold content making it more accessible.

Most of my gold jewelry is made with 18k gold in order to elevate its aesthetics and value.  The majority of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and handmade; some are even works of my art.  The 18k gold ensures that you are getting the best that I am able to provide as well as being part of my goal to offer fine jewelry to you.
